These terms are an agreement between you and SOLBYTE (Republic of Korea) ("we", "us"), which runs Taskweather. By using the website taskweather.com, the Taskweather player or the Taskweather browser extension, you agree to them. Our Privacy Policy explains how we handle personal data. If you use Taskweather for a company, you confirm you may accept these terms for it.
1. The service
Taskweather plays background nature sounds and switches them to suit the kind of work you are doing. It consists of a web player, an optional browser extension and this website. The mode is chosen by simple rules from the site you are on; it can be wrong, and you can always pick the mode yourself.
Taskweather is meant for comfortable background sound. It is not a medical device and does not diagnose, treat or prevent any condition. Keep the volume at a comfortable level, and do not rely on it in situations where you need to hear your surroundings.
2. Who can use it, and accounts
You can use the player without an account. To create an account you must be at least 13, at least 14 in Korea, and at least the age of digital consent where you live in the EU (up to 16).
You sign in with an email link or with Google. Keep access to your email account secure, because anyone who controls it can sign in as you. An account is for one person. Tell us right away if you think someone else is using your account.
3. Free plan and Pro
Free: every sound by manual choice, automatic switching for 60 minutes a day, and automatic pause on video sites and when you step away.
Pro: unlimited automatic switching, your own site rules, and sound tuned to your feedback.
When you use the player without an account, the free minutes are counted in your browser. We may change what the Free plan includes; we will not take away a Pro feature from a period you have already paid for.
4. Free trial
We may offer new accounts a free Pro trial without a payment method. When it ends you move to the Free plan and are never charged unless you choose to subscribe. One trial per person.
5. Subscriptions and payment
Pro is billed monthly or yearly at the price shown on our pricing page, plus sales tax or VAT where it applies. The final price, including tax, is shown at checkout before you pay.
Our online reseller Lemon Squeezy is the merchant of record for all orders. It sells the subscription to you, takes the payment, collects tax and sends receipts, under the terms it shows at checkout.
A subscription renews automatically at the end of each month or year and charges your saved payment method until you cancel. Before a yearly renewal we, or Lemon Squeezy, email you a reminder.
You can cancel at any time on the billing page or by writing to us. Cancelling stops the next renewal; you keep Pro until the end of the period you paid for. There is no cancellation fee.
If a payment fails, Lemon Squeezy tries again for a few days and Pro stays on meanwhile. If every attempt fails, you move to the Free plan.
If we change the price, we email you at least 30 days before it applies. The new price applies from your next renewal after that, and you can cancel before then.
6. Refunds
You can get a full refund of any charge, the first one or a renewal, if you ask within 14 days of that charge. No reason is needed. Write to support@taskweather.com or reply to your receipt. Pro ends when the refund is made.
After 14 days we do not refund the rest of the current period, except where the law gives you a right to it (for example if the service did not work as described, or a pro-rata refund when you end a yearly plan early where local law provides one). We may decline repeated refund requests that look like abuse of this policy, unless the law gives you a right to the refund.
This policy covers the 14-day right of withdrawal for consumers in the EU and UK and the 7-day withdrawal right under Korean e-commerce law; you do not need to give up those rights to start using Pro right away.
7. Our content and your licence
The sounds are generated by our software in your browser, together with a few recordings that their creators dedicated to the public domain (CC0). No copyrighted music is used. The Taskweather software, design and name belong to us.
We give you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use Taskweather for your own listening, including while you work. You may not resell or redistribute the service, publish its output as your own sound library or stream, or copy, modify or reverse engineer the software except where the law allows it.
If you send us ideas or feedback, we may use them without any obligation to you.
8. Acceptable use
Do not use the service to break the law; interfere with or attack it, or test its security without our written permission; access it with bots or automated tools in a way that burdens it; get around the plan limits or payment; or use another person's account without permission.
9. Other services
The service relies on your browser (Chrome or Edge for the extension), Google sign-in if you choose it, and Lemon Squeezy for payment. Their own terms apply to them, and we are not responsible for them.
10. Changes to the service and these terms
We keep improving the service and may change or remove features. If we change these terms in a way that matters to you, we tell you on the website and by email at least 30 days before (or 7 days for changes that do not disadvantage you). If you do not agree, you can stop using the service and cancel; if we materially reduce Pro during a period you paid for, we refund the unused part.
11. Ending the agreement
You can stop using Taskweather at any time and ask us to delete your account. We may suspend or close an account that seriously or repeatedly breaks these terms; we will tell you why first unless the law or an urgent risk prevents it. If we close your account without fault on your part, or shut down the service, we give at least 30 days' notice where we can and refund the unused part of any prepaid period.
12. Disclaimer
We work hard to keep the service running well, but to the extent the law allows, it is provided "as is" and "as available". We do not promise that it will be uninterrupted or error-free, that the automatic mode will always be right, or that it will make you more productive. Nothing in these terms limits the rights you have as a consumer under the law where you live.
13. Limitation of liability
To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special or consequential damages, or for lost profits or data. Our total liability for any claim about the service is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim and 50 US dollars.
These limits do not apply to death or personal injury caused by our negligence, to fraud, to damage we caused intentionally or through gross negligence, or to anything else that the law does not let us limit.
14. Governing law and disputes
These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Korea, and disputes go to the court that has jurisdiction under the Korean Civil Procedure Act. If you are a consumer, you also keep the protection of the mandatory laws of the country where you live and may bring a claim in your local courts. Please contact us first at support@taskweather.com; most problems can be solved quickly that way.
15. General
These terms and the Privacy Policy are the whole agreement between you and us about the service. If a part of them is found invalid, the rest still applies. If we do not enforce a right at once, we have not given it up. We may transfer this agreement to a company that takes over the service, and it must honour these terms. These terms are published in English and Korean; if the two differ, the English version applies, except that the Korean version applies to users in Korea.
